Hmmmmm....I'm no Capt. Jack Sparrow but I can't imagine that a cruise ship would even be able to turn fast enough to list without some sort of outside help.

I think the folks who insure these ships would agree with you... Also, almost the same thing happened a few months ago when a family member and friends went on a cruise out of the same port. The ship engines stopped and the ship listed wildly to one side. Up until that time, no one in that group had ever heard of such a thing...

Your family member experienced a similar happening a few months ago? Was it a Princess ship? It sure is strange that it happened going out of the same port. Was it reported in the media, is there any record of the happening? Another very strange thing is that a passenger on the Crown Princess said the ship had been "tilted" for some time prior to the happening.
