Defying the will of Congress (remember these votes in November!), President Bush sent a veto message (read the president's message here), that he would not sign HR 810, the "Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2005."
President Bush addressed the situation in Lebanon while meeting with members of Congress in the White House.
Secretary of State Rice met at the State Department today: New Zealand's Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peres, and Belgium's Foreign Minister Karel De Gucht. Next week she is scheduled to attend Southeast Asia's top security forum.
Thanks :)
The one is still there ranting and contorting, not caring if anything he says makes sense relative to anything else he's said.
I'm beginning to wonder if there might be some kind of psychosis or mental illness involved.
Of course, that may the power of Satan. If you read some of his posts reviling God, you know exactly where he is getting his strength.....
I think it's called "sin." May God free him of his bondage.
He is in need of forgiveness and peace.
btw, thanks for standing up for me. :)
No, the thanks go out to you for your consistent and strong stand. I've never seen you wilt in the heat of battle. With the Lord's strength, I've got your back. :-)
(But if you 'see' me getting mad [that's ME in charge], an extra prayer or two wouldn't hurt).
And it's always nice to see the Cavalry coming to the rescue........ :)
Or drink. Or drugs. Or some combination of them. Or just passionate about his (or her?) point of view, warped though it may be. Or he may be a volunteer and/or paid propagandist.
I don't like to dismiss the behavior of Leftists by saying their thinking is a form of mental illness. That lets them off easily. Nope. They are not mentally ill. They merely believe in any of the several derivatives of Marxism. For this reason, I firmly believe they want -- indeed, work for -- the defeat and collapse of the United States. Why? The ideals on which this nation was found, and on which we still largely govern ourselves, are the antithesis of Marxist ideology.
I'm wondering about the alcohol or drugs too. Just today on the front page of USA Today was an article that one in 5 families has someone in their family who abuses alcohol or drugs.
And some of the posts we've seen are so nonsensical, that maybe that's the explanation.
Shouldn't discount the possibility of demon possession....Seriously. A good old exorcism may be what's needed in the case of some. ohioWfan referenced in another comment how the simple mention of "God" sends some of these people into a hysterical fit. I don't know if they foam at the mouth or their heads spin around, but based on some of the comments I've read in the past, I think some people are capable of that kind of behavior.
There were other posters on that thread who had an anti-Bush tone, but the comments from those two sounded oddly similar.
Loon: "I hope you sleep well at night knowing that REAL human beings who are actually alive are going to DIE because of the Presiden't religious fairy tales."
Irish: "We can't even control sexual activity in our own high schools but were going to curtail it in a 3rd world tribe. Innocent people are dying because of this administrations fairy tale beliefs."
They both used the words "fairy tale" and "fairy tales" to describe the president's beliefs. I don't think anyone else used that phrase. No one else seemed to be quite as unhinged as those two, either.
And Ohio, remember last night when things were getting heated between you and Loon? He suddenly disappeared from the thread. He didn't post anything for several minutes. But during that time Irish appeared, making the same sort of comments.
From what I saw, that seemed to be a recurring event throughout the thread.
If you look at the very first page of the thread, when Loon was beginning to get flamed, he stopped posting for about 9 minutes, between post #24 and post #64. During that time, Irish appeared at post #41.
And guess who was the very first person to agree with Irish's comments ...
Replies to post #41
This doesn't prove anything, and I admit I could be wrong about this. But their behavior makes me suspicious.
You may be on to something jonny. I would suggest they are TWINS! That would explain his/her/its constant pleas to explain when a twin's life begins. Were there two lives in that zygote before it split.
LOL!
Loon and Irish are zygotes! LOL! That's pretty good :)
If you knew Tony's heart, you'd find it even more significant. He and his wife wanted more children and suffered several miscarriages before being able to do so. The ages of their children are 10, 12 and 13. It doens't look on the surface like many "skipped" years but there were - and heartbreaks with them.
As someone who was the last of 3 children, with a brother and a sister 9 and 12 years older than me, AND with a Mother who happened to be on Sabbatical, studying out-of-state, I'm blessed to have had a Mother who didn't for one New York second consider an abortion. She promptly filed for pregnancy leave, and settled in to have her third child.
Yes, I've thought about the obvious - what if she'd acted differently. But we'll never know, because I'm here and I'm not planning on going anywhere soon!!!
God bless this President who really understands the moral issues involved.
When someone gets all heated, "....but the research, the research....", I remind them that PRIVATE money can always be spent on the research. We are talking abut the expenditure of FEDERAL money, taxpayer's money, and I, for one, am very thankful to have the moral, God-loving, God-fearing President (and Press Secretary) that God gave us for such a time as this.
Sorry I'm so late with my 2 cents, but I just couldn't resist.
Fringe: REAL human beings who are actually alive are going to DIE because of the Presiden't religious fairy tales."
And then.....
Irish: Innocent people are dying because of this administrations
Very interesting..................!
I remind them that PRIVATE money can always be spent on the research.
If you were on that thread you would see that point was made numerous times. (At least 3 times by me) That was in essence what the thread was about, vetoing FEDERAL funds used for ESC research. It was not about banning the research.
Those suffering from BDS did not care, as it did not further their bash-bush agenda. Instead, they hijacked the thread, turning it into a "science over religion" thread trashing our "religious zealot" "worse President ever" thread. It was disgusting.
Yep! And there are a couple more similarites--they each referred to Christians as "fundies" or "fundamentalists". And when others stopped replying to their insane posts, they were both quick to declare victory.
Hmmm.
Hi! I haven't seen your name on screen in ... I don't know how long. I hope you're doing well.
I am an explainer, can ya tell? LOL!
I just didn't want ya to wonder why
the rose thank you keeps movin' down,

& thanks for the purpleized text in your posts!
Nice touch!
I learned to colorize but it isn't
memorized how to yet.
So I leave mine as is...

:)
I don't know if it's the explanation, but it's certainly an explanation.
