Unity08 Watch - Be a Delegate to a National Political Convention - No experience Required
www.unity08.com ^ | July 19th 2006 | AndyTheRed

Unity08 is an online community with the stated purpose of nominating a bi-partisan presidential ticket.

The twist is ANY registered voter can be a delegate to their convention! FR folks need to get there and register and have their voice heard (but don't donate money!).

Their closely held board includes Lindsay "Valentine" Ullman, also a key mover in the non-partisan but very leftist "Roosevelt Institituion".

Also on the website is a wide open Blog- "Shoutbox" where the progressives currently rule.

Get involved on the ground floor! You also can get a free bumper sticker for your collection.

About Unity08 It's not politics as usual…

Unity08 is a diverse group of Americans who believe that neither of today’s parties reflects the aspirations, concerns or will of the majority of Americans. Both parties have polarized and alienated voters. Both are unduly influenced by single-issue groups. Both are excessively dominated by money.

There is a better way…

Unity08 is committed to presenting a third presidential ticket and platform – one that addresses the issues and challenges of the 21st Century – to the American voters in 2008.

We will not waste time pointing fingers. Instead, we will focus on how America can find common ground on critical issues – to give the overlooked moderate majority a voice and a choice in 2008.

"FR folks need to get there and register and have their voice heard"

What would be the purpose?

Just to have a 'Shout fest' where any Conservative would probably be outnumbered?

No thanks.

Big,

Not to be drowned out but to persuade and lead those who happen in there but would be conservative. Look at their online petition a lot of the folks coming there are ticked off about non-secure borders, congress playing games with WOT, etc, basically center-right folks who shouldn't be left to the vultures.

We have to win in the battledground of ideas!

You signed up today to solicit support and funds for a 3rd party org/candidate/etc.

No thanks, I'll try to work within the existing frame work which will produce the winner in 08. No Perots for me.

No Thanks... it was because of a Third Party candidate (Perot) that we got 8 years of a Clinton in the White House... no need to repeat that.

I'm sorry. But third parties do nothing more than draw votes away from a viable candidate.

Without 'Perot', G.H.W.Bush probably would have been re-elected.

Even with his 'no new taxes' slip up!

Where do you 'specifically contribute funds' if not over there assuming you go there and support their efforts.

I would prefer seeing the opposition (DemocRATS and RINOs) removed from the picture and let real progress occur.

HERE'S THE PLEDGE:

The current system stinks! It's simply not fair that candidates who can raise the most Fat Cat lobbyist money early in the presidential selection process are the ones most likely to prevail.

If we're going to transform politics we have start right now in the early stages of the presidential campaigns to get rid of the corrosive effect of Fat Cat money. Now's the time to use the power of the Internet to protect our choices and change the system. And now's the time to demand that anyone who wants to run for president finance their campaign with the majority of money coming from small contributions under $250. Learn more about why it's urgent to act now.

If a new president is going to talk the talk of cleaning up the lobbyist and Fat Cat money culture in Washington, he or she had better walk the walk in 2008. That's why I'm signing the Unity08 Clean Money Pledge.

My Comment:
HOW ABOUT WE DEMAND OUR LEGISLATORS GET BACK TO OPERATING 'PER THE CONSTITUTION'!
