I live in Omaha Ne. we have three police unions one white, one black & the Hispanic officers association.
The past editor of the F.O.P. wrote a column in the "Shield" that disagreed with a position taken by the Black police unions leadership. The president of the black union then gave out the unlisted phone number & unlisted address on a public access cable of the white officer & encouraged the audience to give the white officer "a phone call" .
The result was a series of phone threats against the white officer & his family. When the white officer confronted the president of the black police union demanding what right he had to recklessly endanger his family , it took several other officer including a field supervisor to keep the black police officer from drawing HIS weapon & SHOOTING the white officer .
The black officer was given a short suspension & a written reprimand . Should I really trust this collection of dolts?
WOULD YOU?
In answer to your mostly retorical question: No. I left California, mainly because the battle was fought and lost (by our side). You are living in one of the outer rings of the inferno. If you choose to stay, FIGHT for what you stand for. If you and others like you don't win, at least you will have tried so your place will not be "with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat".
