A lot of people don't realize just how much energy there is in gasoline. If you took a glass of gasoline the size of a "d" battery and compared it to a "d" battery, the difference in stored energy is staggering.

Oh, you and I DEFINITELY agree on that. If it was cheap, it would be great. And let's be frank here. The maintenance costs of electric motors is far less than internal combustion engines. Say goodbye to oil changes, spark plug changes, etc.

But if it were economically feasable (wind powered recharging, solar cells, etc.), for those who need to take a lot of short trips as I mentioned before, it is a viable option.
