We've all been in situations like you have described. We all get grouchy and crabby and whiney. Then we get over it. It's a temporary state of mind.
I think if I were in RY2's shoes I would act a lot more panicky. He has a right to complain and grip. He's only human, and he's stuck in a war zone. Anything could happen. We don't know how this will escalate. No one has a crystal ball.
