Bob Bevelacqua used to work with Col Cowan in an elite security consulting firm. Not sure if he is still part of the group, but, he has spent a lot of time in Iraq doing private security and consulting work .
He turned against the war shortly after the invasion -he gave an interview to David Corn in the Nation in which it was hard to tell the difference between the two. He comes across as a pompous know it all and is no fan of SecDef Rumsfeld or President Bush.
I heard from a SF friend of mine today that some guy in a goatee made an ass of himself on FOX .
I am very suprised I have not seen him in months but I remember last year he did seem very pro war?

I heard him making very negative comments this afternoon, can't remember specifics. A red flag for me is someone who retires/resigns as a Major. Too many British shows or stories have a Major that is a stock character of snobbish ineffectiveness.
Why did he not stay to make Colonel?
You can spot them because they always say "my sources tell me". As if they had this secret information that nobody else is privy to.
Major Bob was a good guy once upon a time. But he got caught up in his own celebrity and self importance. Sad.
The best of the talking heads IMO is Lt. General Tom McInerney, on FOX.
