Does Assad have blood on his hands, if so to what degree compared to SH?

I'm sure Assad does, but I can pretty much guarantee that SH would win that contest.

More from Syrian Ambassador:

"Israel is committing atrocities in Lebanon."

He just deflected a question from Blitzer asking if Syria allows transport of weapons through Syria.

You guys need to watch this, it is BAD!

Can't the US demand that this Syrian Ambassador go home?

...looks how Iran is using its influence in the Middle East to wage a stealthy war against Israel and America and assesses the extent of its ties to key players in the current conflict.

I haven't read the Newsweek article yet but I will in a minute.

But I think that it can't be stated often enough that this is the ultimate goal of the jihadists.

That is one place where I think Newt did Republicans a favor this morning on the Sunday talk shows. Despite his bit of Bush bashing, he is putting the war in context of WWIII and we ignore the threats at our peril.

I don't know about that. But what I do know, is while we stay in Afghanistan we have Iran surrounded.

Haifa-hit rockets were Syrian made

By YAAKOV KATZ, JPOST STAFF AND AP

Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz said on Sunday afternoon that the more advanced Fajar missiles that were fired with a barrage of other rockets at Haifa on Sunday morning, killing eight people, were made in Syria.

Meanwhile, the names of the eight victims of the Haifa attack were released for publication. The following people all died when a rocket hit a maintenance depot at the train station: Shlomi Mansora, 35, from Nahariya; Rafi Hazan, 30, from Haifa; Kiryat Ata residents Nissin Elharach, 43, and Reuven Levy, 46; Kiryat Yam residents Asahel Damati, 39, David Feldman, 28, and Dennis Lapidus, 24, and Shmuel Ben Shimon, 41, from Upper Yokne'am.

Just two hours after the fatal attack, a second barrage of rockets landed in Haifa's port area and Nahariya.

A third barrage of rockets hit the Haifa area on Sunday afternoon. Nobody was wounded in the latest attack. Air raid sirens had sounded immediately before the Katyushas hit.

I have been away for a few hours and this thread has grown by some 500 posts so this may already have been posted. Anyway we discussed this in the morning (European time): Al-Jazeera broadcasting the sites of the hits on Haifa, therby helping Hezbollah to correct their aim.

Al-Jazeera Arab Network News Team Detained in Haifa
18:15 Jul 16, '06 / 20 Tammuz 5766

(IsraelNN.com) A news team from the Al-Jazeera Arab news network was detained on Sunday after broadcasting specific information against military censorship regulations.

The network’s Israel correspondent, Elias Karram, was part of the team that was detained after broadcasting the attack live from an observation point near the scene.

Media have been forbidden to convey specific information about the location of landing sites of rockets fired by Hizbullah in order not to inadvertently assist the terrorist group to refine its aiming at Israeli targets.

Until now, the Arab news network, which has reported from Israel for years, has accepted the security regulations. On Sunday, the news team was warned against broadcasting again without censorship.

I can't wait for the transcript of this Blitzer interview of Syrian Amabassador to the U.S. Imad Moustapha to come out. I will post it when it is available and I locate it.

It was really, really bad.

Mr. Moustapha (sp?) I'm watching the Syrian ambassador on CNN--he spoke directly to the camera, appealing to the public.

He looks very, very concerned.

Matt Dowd -- I don't know that name and missed him if he was interviewed at all.

But I think it's a terrific idea (the web site) and hope freepers can have some positive impact.

Exactly, and in sending an Ambassador home doesn't it send a message that the US has had it with Syria messing with Iraq and Israel?

He spoke directly to the camera at some point.

It seems to me he is deeply worried.

He spoke of his respect for Dr Rice, etc.

I'm no expert but I think they're feeling the heat.

It's been on a couple threads. There are also reports that Al-Jazeera transmission signals are being used as targeting aids.
