nope. absent the war, slavery wouldn't have lasted, anywhere in the country,for another decade, as the Industrial Revolution had come to agriculture.

but then only NITWITS believe the war was about slavery. it was about FREEDOM for dixie. (or "preserving the union", if you're a bluecoat apologist)
