"As I predicted, Syria and Iran are hanging Hezbollah out to dry."
yep yep yep. Just prior to you pinging me, I had copied your good analysis from yesterday, and pasted it into a different post by OPS4 on current issue. I do think people should strongly consider what you wrote.
Iran and Syria are not fools. They know they cannot go anywhere positive should either or both elect to do armed combat with Israel. The US forces being embedded in Iraq, the public announcements by the Saudis, the neutrality by Egypt and Jordan etc., is indicative that lots of puppet shows are being played to satisfy different audiences.
There is not going to be any regional war. Only Israel's continue strategic strikes against Hamas and Hisbollah respectively.
Allegra. Don't let your heart be troubled. This crap (Hizbollah/Hamas targeting) is going to die down in a few weeks to a month. Iraq shall continue to stabilize as Maliki and company are pressured to make further deals with the various groups on the line teetering, and a final decision is made on how to silence the fat boy once and for all, and neutralize his militia.

I haven't been discouraged in all the time I've been here (not even in April of '04 when things got quite scary) and I'm not letting down now! ;-)

Iraq remains on track and progress continues. We're finding it kind of interesting to watch a war somewhere else and play spectator for a while.

It was pretty quiet in Baghdad today. We welcome that.
