God wanted the Egyptians drowned in the Red Sea. Otherwise, He would have continued holding back the water. Instead, He let the water crash over them.

But first, he warned Pharaoh and commanded him to release the Israelites. The decision to persue Israel to recapture or destroy them was also Pharaoh's.

God wanted Jericho destroyed. He knocked the walls down.

True. Sometimes He does become directly involved.

Sodom and Gomorrah, anyone?.....

God did not cause the wickedness of the inhabitants of S & G. Their punishment was in consequence of their wickedness.

Similarly, God did not start the present conflict, blood-thirsty terrorists did. However, His power may yet have a great deal to do with their destruction.

The point was that God does get directly involved in war. There was a suggestion that He doesn't.
