Heat advisory (Riverside CA)
Expires 4:00 PM PDT on July 13, 2006
Statement as of 11:45 PM PDT on July 12, 2006
... Hot days to continue in the inland areas through the weekend...
Strong high pressure aloft will cause a gradual warming trend with
hot days inland through this weekend. This will cause potentially
hazardous conditions for outdoor activities during the afternoons.
High temperatures will be in the 100 to 110 degree range in the
inland Empire and in the mid 90s to 105 in the San Diego inland
valleys and mountain foothills. The lower deserts will be 110 to 118
degrees and the high deserts will range from about 102 to 112.
Inland Orange County will be near 100 degrees.
Subtropical moisture will increase early next week causing more mid
and high clouds that will lower the temperatures a little.
However... higher humidities will make the apparent temperatures feel
just about as hot.
People should reduce outdoor activities during the hottest part of
the day. If outdoor activities cannot be avoided during afternoons
then wear loose fitting light weight and light colored
clothing... and drink plenty of water. Take advantage of shade and
air conditioning if available. No person or pet should be left in an
enclosed vehicle... even for the a short period of time. Temperatures
will quickly rise to life-threatening levels... even if the windows
are partially opened.
