Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

I guess I do not know that God wrote the Bible, I would love to know which version is correct.

Without any other fact to go on (as this is a matter of faith) I take the KJV as the Truth. But I still have doubts, sadly.

Never underestimate the power of the Devil, especially to deceive. I want to believe, more that anything.

Satan can not do anything without God’s permission. God is sovereign, Satan is not. Hence as I said God can take care of his own publishing. The more I read it the more this truth sticks out.

Easton's Bible Dictionary Sovereignty Sovereignty of God, his absolute right to do all things according to his own good pleasure (Dan 4:25,35; Rom 9:15-23; 1Ti 6:15; Rev 4:11).

NASB 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

Easton's Bible Dictionary Word of God Word of God (Heb 4:12, etc.). The Bible so called because the writers of its several books were God's organs in communicating his will to men. It is his "word," because he speaks to us in its sacred pages. Whatever the inspired writers here declare to be true and binding upon us, God declares to be true and binding. This word is infallible, because written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and therefore free from all error of fact or doctrine or precept. (See Inspiration; Bible) All saving knowledge is obtained from the word of God. In the case of adults it is an indispensable means of salvation, and is efficacious thereunto by the gracious influence of the Holy Spirit (Joh 17:17; 2Ti 3:15,16; 1Pe 1:23).

You would then need to know how to read greek and hebrew, since those were the languages it was written in. What we have in many forms (NIV, KJV, NASV, etc) are translations. Please take time to research the methodology of the different translations and generally you'll find they are either literal or paraphrase translations. In the case of the KJV, it was based upon the Vulgate, translation of the greek/hebrew into latin.
