I'm very glad to see that Ms. Irey won't stand by and be besmirched by the likes of Murtha and the innuendo and gutter political tactics of the Democratic Party. If the publisher of the Tribune-Democrat has any decency at all, he will print Ms. Irey's rebuttal to the despicable accusations that Murtha made and they printed.Especially if a few of us help to convince them!
I'd still like to know if the Irey campaign just dropped the ball and didn't respond to legitimate requests for a response, or if it was an insincere, last-minute request by the paper.

More likely than not, it was a last-minute request. They do it ALL THE TIME. Many times the reporters will call at the end of the work day, after hours, or refuse to speak with anyone else but their intended target. Then they claim "no reponse", "no comment" or "did not return calls", which in essence is a twisting of the truth that comes off looking like someone was avoiding them. It covers their butt and makes the target look bad.
