Since the Al Gore global warming film, "An Inconvenient Truth," opened in the Bay Area five weeks ago, approving audiences have left the theater murmuring a similar refrain: "I hope the people who need to see it, see it."
In the region's politically blue vernacular, that translates as "red state audiences." And so far, those audiences are seeing it. The film is playing in the nation's top 185 markets, getting off-the-chart audience recommendations in conservative bastions like Plano, Texas, and Orange County. "Truth" is the third-highest-grossing political documentary of all time, behind Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" (which grossed $119 million) and "Bowling for Columbine" ($21 million).
And a key to making "An Inconvenient Truth" accessible to a wide range of audiences started with the first conversation Gore had last summer with director Davis Guggenheim in San Francisco's Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Each had a demand.
Gore wanted the science to be handled correctly, not trivialized. Guggenheim, director of Fox's breakneck TV hit "24," wanted to tell the story through Gore's life.

That's because a good bit of the general public are idiotic liberals.
There are enclaves of communists in even the most conservative states. Still the numbers tell the story.
Algore -- or -- the Unabmber?

More people saw Alexander. And that's saying something.
The problem for the global warming disaster advocates, is that Al Gore - craven, truth-challenged, politician - has become the poster-boy for their cause. This can only hurt their case - there is no upside to being associated with Algore.
Apparently, even leftists are bored by Algore.
I'm a teacher and during one of the last days of school I was walking through the teacher's lounge when a liberal (surprise!) colleague chirped "Have you seen Gore's Inconvenient Truth yet?"
I replied - loudly - "Here's an inconvenient truth for Al Gore - HE LOST!!!" Man that felt good...
One of THE worst rags in the country. Fitting for one of the worst cesspools.

Compared to "The Passion of the Christ" at $370 million.

Why the fawning over Al Gore and his movie? Why not highlight the respected scientists (incl MIT prof in atmospheric science) who have grave doubts?
The Gore movie shows South Florida going underwater. Gore, though, he says, not in the movie, claims that within ten years we will hit a tipping point or point of no return. Yet, it is easy to see through the hype. We can almost certainly predict:
-We will be, in ten or twenty years, on the wrong side of the tipping point from Gore's point of view. China and India will continue to use more and more fossil fuels. The best we could do is slow down the increase, and even then it would be marginal.
-Florida will NOT be underwater in 50 or 100 years.
This is reminiscent of other phony hypes of the last forty years. Why not expose it as such?
This all about PROPOGANDA, nothing else....
The World is ending, the sky is falling, and the only thing that will save us is Al Gore, Higher Taxes, And Radical Socialism.....
I remember these clowns telling us in elementary school that the world would end in 2000, too.....
Political Documentary ? Neither one is truthful enough to even gleam the word "Documentary" they are supposed to be written in truth studied and researched in truth politics aside !
Unless of course it is a Political Documentary then your stuck with whats left over from outright lies and half-truths ...
It's not like there aren't Moonbats in our Midst here in the Heartland.
We just outnumber them.
Our District goes 70-80% Republican, but the chain movie rental outlets still have multiple copies of Fahrenheit 9-11 on the shelves.
And .. Michael's Moore movie hit red states too - but it didn't gain him anything .. in fact .. I believe it hurt the left's cause - especially when it was learned that most of the left's congress people attended his D.C. airing.
Just search for the words "global warming" and you might be surprised at how many articles there are AGAINST what Al is saying.
"I hope the people who need to see it, see it."..........
Pre-war Germany, after Hitler speech: " I hope the people who need to hear him, hear him."
"The film is playing in the nation's top 185 markets, getting off-the-chart audience recommendations in conservative bastions like Plano, Texas, and Orange County."
What exactly is an "off-the-chart" audience recommendation?

"A key challenge to wooing that pickup driver would be overcoming any feelings he had for Gore, who carries a ton of political baggage for a movie star."...
MOVIE STAR?? You gotta be kidding me...
Unfortunately, albore is so high on himself that any step to reality would be a crushing blow.
