Let Asia deal with Kim Jong-Il (Buchanan)

That free fireworks display Kim Jong-Il put on for our benefit on July Fourth may prove to have been the best day George Bush has had since Zarqawi went to his eternal reward.
For years, Bush has been trying to persuade world opinion that Kim is a psycho who cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons. By firing off all those rockets into the Sea of Japan, Kim went a long way toward convincing a hung jury that Bush may have a point. Kim has also provided compelling evidence that missile defense may not be such a silly right-wing idea after all.

I suspect that 'Asia' and part of Europe are already 'dealing' with Il, and their refusal to put an end to his appearing insane is to provoke the reaction our liberals have been promoting since these fireworks went on display.

And just who in Asia is going to stop Kim Jong-Il? Certainly not China - he is their puppet bought and paid for and it is to their advantage to have him attacking us. The South Koreans? Geography is against them. Japan? They need to rearm toute suite. Taiwan? Stymied by the mainland Chinese.
It's in our interests to remove this madman, because when he strikes out, it will be us he is trying to hit.

"Don't just do something. Stand there," Secretary of State Dean Rusk. Hey, I like that. There are certainly times when that is good advice.

I think it would be in the best interest of the PRC to take out Kim, but then again he is their little pet Pit Bull, a pet but a part of the Communist family..

This is Korea's problem. Keep developing a missile defense and let the Asians sort it out. Japan is the key.

We ought to get our soldier-hostages off the DMZ and bring them back to Guam, if not all the way home to the United States. For years I have held this belief, supported by MacArthur as Buchanan mentions.

I like your idea but if we did that SK would be gone in a New York minute. Coastal assaults are hell.

And the worst day for old Pat since Zarqawi died, even though Pat was very pleased that one of those Jooooooz was kidnapped in Israel.

I like your idea but if we did that SK would be gone in a New York minute. Coastal assaults are hell. South Korea has an excellent army and should assume responsibility for their own continued Independence. If SK was attacked, I'm not sure that any strategic reason exists for intervention. Agree that coastal assaults are hell.

Ceding the Pacific to China would be dangerous.

I agree. When did the U.S. become the world police?

Off the mark. How is it 'anti-Christian bigotry' to criticize Pat Buchanan? I'll just assume that you misread my post.
