Right-Wing Pundit's Work Under Scrutiny By HILLEL ITALIE, AP National Writer

(07-07) 19:17 PDT New York (AP) --

The syndicator of Ann Coulter's newspaper column is looking into allegations that the right-wing pundit has lifted material from other sources.

"We are reviewing the material and expect to have a response some time next week," Kathie Kerr, a spokeswoman for Universal Press Syndicate, told The Associated Press on Friday.

The New York Post and the Web sites Raw Story and the Rude Pundit have raised numerous questions about Coulter's columns, which appear in more than 100 newspapers, and her best-selling "Godless," already notorious for the author's calling four 9/11 widows, who supported Democrat John Kerry for president in 2004, "harpies" thriving on their husbands' demise.

Kerr said that the press syndicate had not discussed the allegations with Coulter, who was not immediately available for comment Friday. The publisher of "Godless," the Crown Publishing Group, issued a statement saying it had reviewed the "the allegations of plagiarism" in her book and "found them to be as trivial and meritless as they are irresponsible."

"As an experienced author and attorney, Ms. Coulter knows when attribution is appropriate, as underscored by the 19 pages and hundreds of endnotes contained in 'Godless,'" Crown's senior vice president and publisher, Steve Ross, said in the statement. [...]

"Wait until you see some of the things they do to her in the next five or so years"

Got news for you.
Loony left have been doing everything they can to destroy Ann since she wrote her first book , taking apart the Klintons.
They have gotten exactly nowhere.
Don't see them doing any better with their latest attacks.

and for all intents and purposes acted and behaved like they were enjoying their poor husbands' deaths.

"acted and behaved like" --- that's the point. You said it right. She said it wrong. They are acting like they are enjoying their hubands' deaths.......... they are NOT "enjoying their husbands' deaths". Can you see the difference?

"Unless they physically attack her (which is not out of the question), "

I believe they tried that already, on some occasions she has appeared at some universities to speak ( the left hate free speech).
But all that was even before her current book.
Didn't do them any good though.
Ann has more courage in her little finger than all the low down, sniveling, cowardly, loony left vermin combined.

"How old are you? The cartoons are still on if you hurry."

You sure you are not talking to yourself?
You sound like a retarded 5 year old kid, with deranged loony left parents to me.
But hey, that is not entirely yor fault.

Unless they physically attack her (which is not out of the question), the only way they injure her, is by getting people to believe their "take" on her words. Which you seem to be advancing.

Remember Kathleen Willey's cat and car tires.....

"take" on her words --- Yes, I believe the old media will (they have already) begin an all out effort to distort her words and ruin her image.

Btw, have you noticed that Leno and Letterman both have begun to slur her nearly every night with cruel jokes and lampoons? There is beginning to be a sort of "Linda Tripp" assassination begun against Ann. This is happening and it's only the beginning. She gave them too much ammo with that foolish sentence, imo.

Btw, see post 73 if you wish.)

Well, she's going to take flack from that for a long time...however, the Jersey Girls won't be able to go to any Oprah Sob-Fest without the audience wondering if they aren't relishing their widow's attention-getting.

That's something few have commented on--the Jersey Girls can't use the protections of the Sacred Cow Corollary anymore, which is driving the left into a rage.

Rhetorically, she's been a storm trooper. Most of our erstwhile "conservative" commentators are timid wimps anxious to make nice, and i'd like to unload almost all of them. Let them beg liberals to buy them cocktails and let us find some new writers who understand Joe Sixpack better than Joe Kennedy....

And I don't think the right need worry their heads one bit about Ann's "over the top"-- not in a world where liberals would laugh at the thought of pulling a punch.

"Asking a foolish question like that of me, a guy who has three of her books and relishes her sardonic wit and brilliant writing, "

You coulda fooled me. You have attacked Ann on every single thread that I have seen you on.

From "beyond the sea" in this thread alone:

# 9 All I'm saying is that she's going to pay for that sentence for a very long time in ways that she will not appreciate. She's already beginning to absorb it now with this plagiarism claim. But she hasn't seen anything yet.

# 21 You say it here yourself. She will be dealt with and it won't be pretty.

# 31 Ann's going to take heat that she needn't have taken. It will take its toll on her psyche and energy level.

# 46 but that sentence will be used to ruin her. Watch!
Ann is .......... quite angry

Seems like a pretty clear cut case of working pretty hard on trying to manufacture some calamity or the other to befall Ann, against all evidence to the contrary.

As Rush Limbaugh, Laura Schlesinger, Michael Savage, and now Ann Coulter have discovered, don't pi** off the left unless you're prepared for a massive and overwhelming counterassault. They'll seek to destroy you in ten thousand different ways--none of them relevant or substantive.

There is no nastier or more vile life form on the planet. The left is the necrotizing fasciitis (flesh eating bacteria) of mankind, the orcs of our middle earth.

"Well, she's going to take flack from that for a long time..."

Ann has been under constant attack from the loons since she wrote her first book attacking the Klintons.
If anything, those attacks have mnade her even more popular with conservatives.
Let's face it, getting attacked by low life's like Hanoi John Karry can only be good for any conservative.

"however, the Jersey Girls won't be able to go to any Oprah Sob-Fest without the audience wondering if they aren't relishing their widow's attention-getting."

Bingo!
In just a few short sentences, Ann has driven a dagger into the RATS' most potent campaign tactic of the recent past..and they are not very happy about it.
Now why does that make me just break out into great smiles? :)

Seems she was simply stating her opinion:
"I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' death so much."
Makes no difference if they are actually enjoying it or not, it's how she sees it. And, apparently, she's not alone.

On that theme, earlier this year I went to see Phyllis Schlafly speak at heavily pro-abort / Leftist / Feminazist Agnes Scott College, a women's (womyn's?) college.

I was glad to see that the Republican Scotties had recruited several stout Young Republicans from North Georgia College for the event, who kept close-by Mrs. Schlafly when she was moving around on the campus before and after the event.

>>Well, she's [Ann's] going to take flack from that for a long time

Bingo. But it's not like it's anything new, and she can take it. We just have to not let the Left marginalize her, and take every opportunity to fully explain where she's coming from to middle-of-the-road types who are buying the media agitprop about her.

The fact is, Republicans have needed a streetfighter who's willing to get down and dirty in the rhetorical battle. A lie unresponded to is a lie often believed, and Ann refutes a lot of lies in ways that get the public's attention, one way or another. The fact that it's an attrative 115# blonde doing the "streetfighting" makes it all the more delicious. The Lefties go apoplectic about having their own techniques used against them, combined with her having the truth on her side, while their rhetorical campaigns frequently don't.
