I was down at the ground breaking this past weekend. I am a registered Minuteman and proud to be associated with such great people and the cause we fight for. I have a little problem with the truthfulness in advertising our fence. Many people have given money to build a fence that is shown on the website and toughted as " Isreal Design" which has slowed terrorism 95%. I helped pound in approx. 20 light duty cattle guard/ agrcultural style posts and strung up barbed wire per Rancher Ladd. If any one can comment on this I would appreciate it as getting a hold of a Minuteman official is so hard to do. The general public might get a little peaved as I am at the money going to something OTHER THAN ADVERTISED. sorry for yelling but I like to do what I say I'm going to do. This "last minute change" in design will slow um up but not good enogh.

As was WIDELY reported, the rancher--because of his cattle--wanted to modify the design. The trenches and concertina wire as presented in the original design were not conducive to healthy cattle. We deferred to his request for a modification in design which is much more inexpensive and will have the requisite vehicle barriers to stop the drug dealers from crashing through in their vehicles. We will defer to the ranchers' request, but NEVER defer to the government's mandates on fencing on private land.

That said, we have three more land owners nearby in Arizona who have agreed to the full-blown security fencing and we are breaking ground in a matter of weeks--as soon as the steel can be fabricated and delivered."

Could or some other knowledgeable person explain to me why a different type of fence is not healthy for the cattle? TIA.

I don't understand why they didn't put in the lightweight cattle fence to keep the cattle away from this fence, then install the one that would keep people out.

A barbed wire fence is not going to keep people out.

Actually, I was talking in terms of the allegations of financial mismanagement, not the fence design. But thanks for the bit of information regarding the change of approach with regard to the fence.
