Apparently it's not the long range model. No word yet on the range or target, and it was shot off from a different site than the one with the long range missile.

FROM CNN:
North Korea has test-launched a missile but not the long-range weapon that the U.S. has been monitoring, sources tell CNN.

The missile launched is NOT the Taepodong II missile that we have been watching sit on the pad.
The missile that was launched is reportedly a smaller range missile, fired for purposes unknown.
Most likely of insufficient range to reach U.S. soil, unless you're counting our Embassy down the road in Seoul.

A missile? Is it "The" missile? The Two Stage threat to Alaska , Hawaii, and the West Coast Missile? If so, we should know more in a few minutes.

On the ground. :)
They want some attention.

Obviously meant as a slap in the face for Americans on the 4th of July.
