Since that majority of Britons has never been to the United States and its members know very few Americans personally, one might ask the British press where this remarkably bad impression came from. They know what they've been told - so who's telling it to them?

Hollywood has a major hand in this. You might think the same thing about America if your image of America was all that you see on television or at the movies.
