You are going to single handedly take the fun out of this for the extremists. For you are spot on correct. Only question is: how to do it? Massive US government aid ala NAFTA, CAFTA, and the Maquilodora program (which have helped but not fixed); or brutal and inhumane sanctions? Maybe a new War On different Drugs. From the conservative aspect, I have not seen liberty expansion and economic growth from any of the aforementioned programs. Military intervention must be a last resort. What lies between the current situation and military intervention I do not know. I do believe that the tension and animosity is not good.

Massive Government aid has SURE helped areas of Africa and all that. No, the only way for the Mexicans to make their country prosperous is to do it THEMSELVES. Maybe them electing someone other than Fox will push them along that path. We might not fully see it within our lifetimes, but hopefully they will be able to get there. We can help some I guess, we can be friendly to them, trade with them as we see fit, assist them via works or if they need help setting up industry, sure we could do that too, but not massive amounts of $$$. That never really helped anyone that we DID NOT invade or defeat in war (ala Japan and Germany, or Iraq for that matter).
