It is because you don't realize that by judging Rush in the way you did, you go against the very tenants to which you proscribe?
It is not for us to determine the merits of another Christian. It is for us to do our best in our own struggle against sin. I am the worst sinner I know, but if you ever suggested I was not Conservative to my face, I might punch you in yours and THEN ask forgiveness. I am still growing in the faith, don't you know......
"It is because you don't realize that by judging Rush in the way you did, you go against the very tenants to which you proscribe?"
Rush makes hundreds of millions judging people. The way I judged him was in a political context and not purely a religious one like you do. My religious beliefs are not the issue and it is not personal.
For you to make sense, then any creep or weirdo under the sun, you know the self admitted biggest known sinners, can claim to be conservative. Well the truth is they are free to make the claim but reasonable minded people will not agree with it, the reason being because it just doesn't make any common sense.
What I would like to see is people like Rush who claim to be conservative but are not, admit they are Republicans because I think "Republican" gets a bad rep and many more people from the center would be more inclined to join the right as Republican rather than "conservative".
So there is a social and political benefit in being intellectually honest about one's true place on the political spectrum. To me being dishonest about it intentionally or not is not a good thing.
