May I suggest a shareware program called Ad Muncher? You have to pay a bit for it, but it eliminates virtually all banner ads and popups. I have never had any problems with Drudge.
On the other hand, another cause of popups at the Drudge site may be spyware that you have contracted earlier from some other site.

A while back I went through all of Drudge's ads and added the URL's to my hosts file. Very little problem anymore.

This is even better, it stops almost
all ads from popping up on any page.

After you install the host file your spyware program will only come up with a few entries.
