The local news is saying that the prescription was written out in his doctor's name to protect his privacy. I think that is illegal for both him and his doctor.

Believe me...if it was....he would not be permitted to carry on his way. This is Palm Beach County you are takling about.

Your doctor doesn't even have to write a prescription to give you medication, if he has it there. It's entirely up to his judgement. The prescription is so someone OTHER THAN THE DOCTOR knows that you have his permission to receive the drug. My doctor routinely gives me medication for my asthma and allergies right there at the office. No prescription is needed because he is giving it to me himself.
