The HIPPA law also requires a patient to submit proof of who you are to pick up a prescription. Not even a family member can pick up a prescription for another family member without the written permission of the other family member

That's funny, I've picked up dozens of scrips in the past year for my gf. Some I had to sign for(narcotic type..ambien etc), the rest, just pay and go.

Same here. I've picked up dozens for my wife and daughter and my wife has picked up dozens for me.

I picked up two for my wife tonight. Maybe the laws differ from state to state but I have never had the problem of buying a family members meds.
The same can be said of those who have done it for me.
