I don't believe that. You mean to say it's against the law for a man to buy a house without his wife's signature or the other way round?

Not to buy, but to sell, if it's the family home. It has to be in one of the spouses' names though to qualify for this protection.

Well, believe. It's true in Missouri also. Wife would have to sign a waiver to allow such a transaction.

It makes sense for the State to treat husband and wife as one person in community property, but I believe that most of these laws were written to avoid this exact abuse.
