When I worked at AT&T Bell Labs, I had the pleasure of knowing a half dozen really nice Arab, Iranian, and Afghan engineers whom I worked on I.C. design projects with. Each of them was a gentlemen. I know for a fact they liked me as a person. I constantly forgot they where muslims. In two cases I was invited to their homes. In each case, they where fully accepted by all others. No distinction was made on who one might sit down next to in say the cafferia for lunch, or a smoke break etc.. I learned early on how thankfull they where to be able to come to America, to get away from the hell holes they where born in.
They wanted no parts of the madness, religious yoke, etc., their families where born into. The simply wanted to live in peace, and provide a safe place for their families to live.
I am sure this example can be extrapulated out by the tens of thousands, probably millions who rather live in peace in the west.
