There is nothing so irredeemably cruel as an attack on a woman for her looks.

Ruh Roh! Lay off the Helen Thomas jibes, or Ann will send you to your room without supper....

I disagree. Spelling produced shows Americans wanted to watch. The critics hated them but the public loved them. He must have done something right for part of his becoming rich was his intuitive understanding of how Americans wanted to be entertained. Spelling truly had the Midas Touch. There's no producer in Hollywood who had a good idea of what made a hit show like he did. In one way or another, they're nearly all watchable. As far as immortality goes, you don't really die when you're credited as a producer. That's in itself a statement. Aaron Spelling was a classic American rags to riches Horatio Alger story. He had a hard life and achieved all that the American Dream could offer. Its really an amazing story and he will be sadly missed. Spelling made all of our lives happier and more enjoyable. People just were crazy about his shows.

Just like the doctors practicing medicine. When will they perfect their craft? Next time I go to one, I will practice paying him.

Thanks for post #245.

Well done. I am blessed by your spirited defense of the faith and the freedom to quote God's Word.

Glad you have mulitplied your talents rather than having buried them.

It was a little sappy, but I was very impressed with his last production -- 7th Heaven. I don't know if you're familiar with the storyline, but it is about a preacher and his family. I actually expected the preacher to be one of those liberal, PC types. It actually turned out to be a very balanced show. I was stunned that the show had a very strong pro-abstainence message. It wasn't exactly the most profound show, but it was sweet and had positive messages. This was the last season. I will miss the show and I'm glad Spelling finished his career/life with an uplifting show.

"Seriously, I notice the show dropped it's clean cut image for juicy storylines." From the beginning, the kids were far from "clean cut." The point of the show is we all have flaws, but there is still right and wrong. Even the "juicy" storylines had a pro-abstainence, pro-life message.

God bless Aaron Spelling. His shows for the most part were far more decent than the rest of what passes for "entertainment" these days.

Prayers for his family.
