Amazing what air-brushing can do, but
insulting someone's looks is juvenile.

Sorry to hear of his passing. He made a lot of people happy and died with a LOT of toys.
(But I still say it was "Family" gave my mother that hiatal hernia.)

It's a beautiful campus and one of the few top drawer private universities in Texas so it certainly makes sense.

SMU is indeed gorgeous, and from what I understand it does provide a great education.

I agree on "7th Heaven." They did one particular episode that was unabashedly anti-2A, but overall, a good family show.

And, I say, "Amen" to that.

"Tori, still being with us, can come over here and defend herself if she likes."

What is she supposed to "defend herself" about- That her appearance doesn't meet with the "standards" here? Or is it that her father gave her a job? No parent has ever done that?

I doubt she'd have time to "defend herself" right now anyway. She's probably still trying to come to grips with the news that her father is gone.

"Lot's of talk here about his big house"

Yeh, between the "big house" talk, and cheap shots about his daughter's looks, I was beginning to wonder if I had somehow, accidentally, logged in to DU.

I know he and his wife had been estranged from their daughter over her choice in husband material. Last month was the first time in the last 9 months that they had seen their daughter in person. I hope they got things straightened out.

I don't like it, either. Aaron Spelling contributed a lot in his life, gave a lot of happiness to many people, and never annoyed any of us with his political beliefs. He got his daughter a job...big deal. Lots of people in Hollywood do that.

It seems to me there is a lot of envy on this thread, and that is not very attractive. In fact, it is a sin.

He had a vision of what the public would watch and has a legacy of success to back it up.

You might call him the Ray Kroc of television.

Thank you Aaron Spelling for Hart to Hart.

A 70s style detective show in the 80s. Sort of a McMillian and Wife knock-off, no?

Thank you, thank you! After they were gone from the weekly lineup, I had hoped Stephanie Zimbalist would kind of take up the slack from not getting to see Stephanie Powers every week.

She had that same "pretty AND funny" combination. But it seems Remington Steele got all the attention back then and now, as well. *sigh*
