I'll stick with my common reply to such nonsense: "God's Church was made to change people's lives; not change itself to suit people's lives!"

I told my priest, "Culture shouldn't shape religion; religion was meant to shape the culture." Which is not to say that forms don't change. The Bible says to make a joyful noise unto the Lord; well, what constitutes a joyful noise can be different from one place to the next. But the core beliefs are not mutable.
