God bless you and all the other women who have chosen motherhood over corporate greed and raised a new generation of taxpayers. May God bless and reward your selflessness.
Well, it's true that being a mother does not require a great intellect, any more than being a United States Senator does. (Or Thomas Sowell and about 60 clones of him would be Senators!) And mothers certainly aren't honored by the chattering classes.
However, nobody takes risks like parents. "Risk" is defined as "the uncertainty of an outcome." Nothing is more uncertain than how one's offspring will turn out, and there's no greater reward for the effort than a successful child. Why, when my Thomas is Pope, you can all say you knew me when ...
Alouette's and petitfour's descendants will populate a city when Linda Hirschmann gets a "Who wuz that b*tch, anyway?" from history.
Thank you for your kind words, but I only had 4 ;)
Motherhood has always been a difficult job, now made even more difficult by feminists and government. There is only so much to give up, in terms of material goods, for one parent to be able to stay home and raise the kids. Lots of prayers and support from family and community can make the difference. Lots of large families here in the desert. Nice people here, and more churches and denominations than I can count. Mostly Evangelical.
