The thing people overlook is that the activists were already hard at it in 1957, poisoning the well when Evelyn Hooker undertook her study at UCLA that later became the hook, as it were, on which the homosexual psychiatrists hung their political campaign to roll the APA's.
Not generally known was that homosexual activists had interfered with Hooker's study to bias her sample and lead her to the outcome they wanted, viz., that everything else being equal, (and it wasn't) gay is okay.
