I once told a lib (female) that we conservatives don't fear global warming because we, unbeknownst to them, had put a special infrastructure in place that would protect us and keep them out.

I swear to God she believed me!

Bwahaha. That's great.

I live in a part of Washington State which has a lot of desertish wide open spaces.

Years ago, I was doing a project with a woman from the west side and she was complaining about the lack of trees. I told her that we used to have trees here, but that over the years they'd been clearcut.

She thought I was serious and went on and on about the evils of clear-cutting. When I finally got through to her that I was joking she got really really mad and wouldn't believe me. I learned very quickly to never joke about anything remotely political with clients unless you are absolutely sure of their political position.

But I have to admit I did take a certain perverse joy in the entire conversation.

I did a similar thing with a hyper-leftist dude at work. After one of our discussions on religious liberty I told him that when we rightwing evangelical Christians took over the country that I was slated to be in charge of the camp that would force liberals to memorize Bible verses. I said all of this without cracking a smile (all the while wanting to bust a gut laughing). I honestly couldn't tell if he believed me or had absolutely no sense of humor.

A general purpose tweak I use with liberals is to tell them that it was my wife who sold Monica Lewinsky the blue dress. I highly recommend playing mind games with these people as it's a fun way to pass the time!

The biggest story which is not being told concerning the IPCC meeting in Paris last month is that there is no story. The Neocom press along with fictional movies(remember the Da Vinci Code)hawked by Al Gore has the world talking about a global warming report which hasn't been written yet. Arguments, discussions, and firings are taking place all over the place based on a "summary" of the cataclysmic global warming event which will destroy the planet in ten years. The fact is that there can be no summary because the final IPCC report has not been completed and will not be ready until 04 May 2007 at the earliest. When will we who make life and death political decisions take false reporting represented as news(not editorials)to courts across this country, and prove that blatantly false statements by the press may, and will cause demonstrable tangible harm to those of us utilizing news information to make important life altering decisions?
