Dstance from Okinawa to Baghdad 4899 Miles That measurement is as the crow flies. But the crow would have to fly over china (or Russia and Mongolia) and and Iran. That ain't gonna happen.
They would undoubtedly have to fly south around Southeast Asia underneath India and then up through the gulf. That's probably closer to 10,000 miles.

You have that right. The only way you could defend anyone at that distance is with ICBMs. Is Murtha advocating that we use nuclear tipped ICBM in Iraqi? Of course if Murtha is saying that we will use nuclear weapons on anyone who messes with us he could be on to something.
