Not the same teams from 2002 to 2006. Your comparison is not applicable.
Spain have been chronic underachievers at the World Cup.
If this result holds up Tunisia would lead the group.
I was surprised that Ukraine lost their first match so badly, but they can score. Shevchenko is world class.
Zidane was not so classy on his yellow card. Not only was it needless and utterly stupid to run into the player from behind, the play was dead.
The whistle had blown, play had stopped and then out of nowhere he comes charging in and slams the guy in the back.
Ridiculous.
So he earned it. What an ass.
Someday, they'll use Bluetooth or something on the ball and players and a light will come on.
Just part of the game, I guess.
Linesman does not have a whistle. There is only one guy with the whistle and he is in the middle.
The rule is complicated, and as long its a human call, there will be problems. Just give it another 10 years, with improving technology, it will be computer call. (and the best hacker wins :^))
Spain is looking good overall with solid technical play throughout.
A goal would be no surprise at all.
Shevchenko's assist was far superior to his goal. It was all class.
I want to see Essidiri come in for Tunisia.
One of only two players from the Norwegian league, represented in the World Cup this year.
That kind of reminds me - remember when FOX had the NHL (back when hockey mattered) and they tried putting that blue spot on the puck for the TV viewers?
Yikes. That was beyond silly.
And the stupid thing had a contrail.
Can anyone tell me how much play time is left?
I would support 2 coach challenges per match that could be viewed by video replay.
Blue spots on TV need to be reserved for Kennedy family rape victims (allegedly).
34 minutes
Something like that could be considered.
Thanks
30 minutes and some injury time. Spain is controlling play but Tunisia is defending well.
It doesn't look like Spain will be getting any help from the ref this time.
The hype is over.
Yeah, looks like it'll be quarterfinals and done again this time after all.
Poor Spain.
