Can't you grab a clear channel fifty-thousand-watter on AM? That's the whole point of requiring the power-down from the other stations.
Short of that, Blame the FCC.
This is the worst possible time of year for radio reception, though.
Winter is the best! When I am frozen in and I am freezing to death I can at least curl up to the radio! lol
