That was the first impression I had of soccer, as well. I couldn't stand the way they dove for everything. Now that I've watched it for so long, and tried to learn it, I realize that is just "part of the game." They *do* get yellow-carded for obvious blatant dives, especially in the zone..FIFA is trying to fix it. Look at it this way: it's an art form in the middle of sports. If you pursue being a fan it will become apparent.
Back in the 90's I had a roommate from Brazil. He was in to it big time. He'd even tape soccer games and watch them all the time.
