Their scrap is not with the President at all. It is with the American people. The President even defended their right to speak their minds while at the same time reminding everyone that they ought not feel offended if there are people who disagree with them. But they want to believe that there shouldn't be any consequences to poor decisions. There certainly were consequences but none of them were caused by the President. If I remember correctly, radio stations decided to not play their records and a lot of people got rid of any Dixie Chicks recordings they owned. Sure, they are still around and making records, but they successfully alienated their fan base, and continue to do so.

They and the media like to paint this as a battle with the President simply to generate controversy against him. In my opinion, it only makes all of them look like fools. People who write articles like this only hope to keep a fingers pointed at all those but the ones responsible.

When you're in a hole, it's a good idea to stop digging. They will be whooping in Mandarin before this is over.

"A lot of pandering started going on, and you'd see soldiers and the American flag in every video. It became a sickening display of ultra-patriotism."

"The entire country may disagree with me, but I don't understand the necessity for patriotism," Maines resumes, through gritted teeth. "Why do you have to be a patriot? About what? This land is our land? Why? You can like where you live and like your life, but as for loving the whole country… I don't see why people care about patriotism."

I posted thes comments on a mass e-mail and passed them on. Do the same. As these fools reap the benefits of this great country and sacrifices of our great troops they respond with this crap?? Unbelievable.

Adam Sweeting is an idiot. The worst part is that he doesn't realize it.
