I wasn't using race, per se, I was simply stating an obvious fact - it would be easier to spot someone of Arabic origin coming from Canada, a country that is mainly Anglo-Celtic and French in it's ancestory, than, we'll say, Mexico - most people wouldn't be able to tell an Arab from an Hispanic - and Islamofascists know that!
Although the President has been getting a lot of criticism from his right wing base on illegal aliens I think he has been wise to keep the focus on security.
By giving an amnesty to illegals??

So, Mrs Spatso read the disclaimer with some difficulty. It caused her to take an interest in the thread and she read some of the other posts. Her favorite as I predicted was the donkey coming down from Mt. Spatso. Her comment was "he has you figured out." She also wanted to know if anybody had said anything different in the 200 posts after the first 20. One more thing, she does not want me to call her Mrs. Spatso.

No you are right. I apologize for making an imprudent assumption.

What 200+ posts and no references to the Lumberjack Song???
FR must have been taken over by Gen Z or something, freakin' youngsters!
I'm a lumberjack
And I'm ok
I sleep all night and I work all day
(He's a lumberjack
And he's ok He sleeps all night and he works all day)
I cut down trees
I eat my lunch
I go to the lavatry'
On Wednesdays I go shopping
and have buttered scones for tea
(He cuts down trees
He eats his lunch
He goes to the lavatry'
On Wednesdays He goes shopping
and has buttered scones for tea
I cut down trees)
I'm a lumberjack
And I'm ok
I sleep all night and I work all day
I cut down trees
I skip and jump
I like to press wild flowers
I put on womens' clothing and hang around in bars
(He cuts down trees
He skips and jumps
He likes to press wild flowers
He puts on womens' clothing and hang around in bars?)
I'm a lumberjack
And I'm ok
I sleep all night and I work all day
I cut down trees
I wear high heels
Suspendies' and a bra
I wish I'd been a girly
Just like my dear pa-pa
(He cuts down trees
He wears high heels?)
(He's a lumberjack
And he's ok He sleeps all night and he works all day
He sleeps all night and he works all day)

Show me where I have attacked or been critical of American policy, as a Canadian FReeper.
You can't do it, so you can add that to the list of apologies you owe me.

Is that the Air Canada plane that "Patient Zero" used to infect the world with AIDS?
Patient Zero was a gay Canadian flight attendant named Gaëtan Dugas. For several years, Dugas was a "mass spreader" of HIV and the original source of the HIV epidemic among gay men.

So, is there a reasonable explanation why Canadians post this ditty? Obviously, it involves some element of national pride or collective frivolity or a profoundly wry sense of humor. what does it mean?

"Somerville may well be the world's foremost ethical authority."
Yes, I had a chance to study Margaret Somerville on palliative care an undergraduate. She has the ability to infuriate and confound both sides of a debate. It appears to me from the material in the National Post you have a liberal arts university reacting negatively to her and a conservative opinion writer defending her. Remember Margaret Somerville is the strongest ethical voice reasoning the legitimacy of early term abortion. A remarkable women of great character, the university should be ashamed.
I did not know she was opposed same sex marriage, I would have guessed different. She appears to have an ethical model similar to what I believe. Do you think she has been monitoring FR in order to shape her opinions?

It is okay to be critical of policy. Policy is about ideas. It is not okay to be critical or attack a person's character or name primarily, merely as an end in itself.

Canadians have NO monopoly on stupidity, one needs only to witness the insane and inane antics of the 'Rat Party's leftists like Pelosi, Reid, Dean, et al, to understand that when it comes to stupidity, there are NO border controls. And don't forget the USA's slimy Republican energy traitors who won't allow oil companies to drill off the coast of Florida. Heaven forfend some pantywaist tourist should see an oil rig; he might faint from shock!

Funny how you keep changing the point you are trying to make, from one post to the next.
The post I was responding to said:Specifically, Canadians could attack and could be critical of American policy but, they will not tolerate any negative comment about there own situation.
You made this claim.
I asked you to show me where in my posting history you could find anything to back up this accusation.
Now you reverse yourself, and say if I had attacked American policy, it would be OK with you.
It is okay to be critical of policy.
These circular arguments of yours are becoming tiresome.

LOL!
I bet the tourists would enjoy that view more than the view of the Swimmer in his bathing suit.
