Ever since 9/11 the Democrats have known that since it occurred on Bush's watch, that the subsequent reaction of Bush to go after all terrorists world-wide, would leave the Democratic Party in a state of IRRELEVANCE for decades to come. Knowing how completely visionary, and yes . . . radical Bush's War On Terror is, the Democrats simply can't afford to be his ally. Why? Because they place their own power over the safety and security of this nation, and every other free and democratic nation. They would rather hold both Houses of Congress and the White House, in the midst of world-wide chaos and despotism. They are always on the "wrong side of history," but their greed for power just consumes them. They literally have no choice but to oppose Bush and ALL his national security/foreign policy decisions. To do so would be suicide. Very, very sad.

To support Bush's policies would be political suicide. Say what you want about Dems, but politics is their only core value. Politics of Power.

Very well said, and once on the slippery spiral, the path of self destruction, the sure path of irrelevance it's going to be very hard for the DRats to recover, if ever.

Insightful.
