The tape on the guitar was obviously put on tonight. The message was hand written with a sharpie. She started her performance by tapping against the message. The camera zoomed in really close, filling the whole screen with the facist thing.
The message reads THIS MACHINE SURROUNDS HATE AND FORCES IT TO SURRENDER. Pete was using it at least as early as the 1960s. He was certainly using it well before the 1980s, by which time he had begun publicly acknowledging that he was, in his own words, "a communist".
