SACRAMENTO A Santa Monica advertising firm that produced a tax-funded $23-million ad program touting the benefits of preschool settled a suit after one of its subcontractors made $2.5 million in payments, the firms have announced.
GMMB Inc. alleged in a suit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court in April that the subcontractor, Durazo Communications, failed to pay some television stations that aired the commercials, which were funded by the First 5 California Children and Families Commission.
(snip)
The suit attracted attention when Hector Ramirez, the commission's chairman, called on the Los Angeles Police Department and the state Bureau of Audits to find out what became of the money.
As part of the settlement, GMMB sent a letter to the Los Angeles district attorney's office saying the matter had been resolved.

Meatheadgate...lol.
I can't take credit for that one. lol
It was an established keyword once Meathead's misdeeds started to get exposed.
Unfortunately, it looks like they want to sweep it under the rug with some quiet, private settlements.
Meathead is one of the few people I truly hate.
I think I could watch him be put to death and I would walk into another room and file my nails...lol.
tax-funded $23-million ad program....
Talk about massive waste and criminality. I guess CA is the only state in the Union that lets politicians use public funds for political purposes.
ROFLMHO!!!!!!!!!
:-)
rofl.... rofl.... rofl...
(still laughing...)
Tony Strickland for Controller: Audit the (heck) out of First 5.
Chuck Poochigian for Attorney General: Lock up the Meathead and his cronies.
I bow to your vision and foresight. ;-)
Archie Bunker sure had Meathead pegged for what he is.
That's when I first started hating him.
The role was made for him. He didn't have to act at all.
LOL
