Absolutely! In this part of the world, we are polite to our neighbours. You find common ground and work with them. For example, Australia and Indonesia are co-operating in the war on terrorism. Just ask John Howard. We don't even bash Kiwis.

Okay, I understand. John Howard has never flinched in his support. If I remember, he stood fast through a national election when everybody said his support of GWB would see him lose the election. I am not sure how you can make a similar case in terms of Canada. The government is part of it. I have no doubt the change in government will help. But, it is not just about leadership. The Canadian people do not seem to recognize how much the world has changed. It is my impression that they have this smug, superior attitude that can only be attributed to a self righteousness that refuses to see or comprehend the choices they have made. When a friend or acquaintance lets you down or betrays you it can be hurtful. But, when a family member, a brother, betrays you it is a cut that plunges deep into your heart. Do not think for a moment that members of Congress do not have fragile hearts in this time of turmoil.
