Nelson's spokesman, McLaughlin, said the Democrat ''firmly believes marriage should be between one man and one woman'' but that the states should regulate marriage...this is the weasel-out position taken by even some 'pubs like McCain - but of course people thought the "states should regulate" abortion too - until the Supreme Court stepped in and found that the Constitution supposedly had the last word - that's why we need an amendment on marriage now, before the SC takes its regulation out of the control of the states......
