Well let's see.... McVain has already said that he would toss out the 1st Amendment if necessary to keep his "campaign finance reform" (sic) and he has made it obvious repeatedly that he favors a massive amnesty for illegals and no real border enforcement. Don't bother him with any information or citizen input, he already knows better.
I'm starting to think politicians think elections work backwards.
The way it should be: Politicians get elected, listen to the voice of their consitituents, act / vote accordingly.
The way it is: Politicians get elected, vote according to their own whim while assuming the constituents agree with them.
This is another example of why term limits are so necessary. The argument against them is "what about the great statesman that we would no longer be able to vote for?" Answer: Are there any politicians out there right now that inspire such loyalty that *ANYONE* would lose sleep over not being able to vote for them?
On the contrary, there are many, many politicians that have deserved to be thrown out for years. Where term limits would have done the job for us, we are still stuck listening to Kennedy et al...
The pols know they are essentially immune from reprocussions of their decisions, especially senators who are only up for election every 6 years.
