If Congress adopts the Bush plan and gives amnesty to illegal aliens, Senate Republicans will be asking President Cheney for a pardon. Bush wants to grant illegal aliens amnesty while sounding like he's really cracking down on them. It tells you where Americans stand on illegal immigration that Bush has to pull the Democrat trick of hiding from the public what he really believes when it comes to immigration.
The "path to citizenship" that Bush and the Senate are trying to pawn off on Americans requires that illegals pay huge fines and back taxes. "Huge" is defined as a $2,000 fine and taxes for three of the last five years. Even with the special Two Years Tax-Free package for illegals, this is about as likely as me paying my dad back the money I "borrowed" from him when I was in college.
We're told illegal immigrants are dying to pay taxes if only they can become citizens. Oh, by the way, they also will have a panoply of government benefits available to them if they become citizens and even if they get green cards. They're probably unaware of this and are just dying to send half their paychecks to the government just like us shiftless, lazy Americans.

"What do you suppose happens after that -- after thorough assimilation and education?"
Good question.
We can now appreciate the reasons why these suckers are persona non grata in their own countries-----and remain stuck in their home countries' subservient perpetual poevery class.
The reason is these arrogant lawbreakers could care less about anybody but themselves, and least of all about US laws. God only knows if the US grants them the right to citizenship what havoc they will bring to our precious democracy. These people are bad news for America.
Americans understand that these organized protests are not about self-defined "underprivileged" immigrants being denied basic rights, but individuals who are out to extort privileges, handouts and freebies to be paid for by working class Americans, and to usurp American laws for their selfish aims.
Americans are defending our country from those who would drag it down into anarchy....no more, no less.
Now, Americans are very understanding people. No American wanted to deprive poor people of a decent living and hope for a better future from their miserable existences in Third World countries. Which is one reson this situation dragged on and on until illegals themselves brought it to the boiling point.
They took to the streets demanding rights, waving foreign flags, talking of American imperialism, yelling about plans to establish a separate subculture of foreign-speaking illegals, to reconqueur the lower USA, and live off the US government.......all paid for by American taxpayers.
Everytime the invaders rally and propose more laws detrimental to our country, it throws a light on the reasons why these mental midgets are subjugated by the tin horn leaders in their antediluvian Central and South American home countries.
Sometimes it's not even 'illegal' for illegals to get a drivers license..........
More aliens seek driver's licenses in Maryland
By Keyonna Summers
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
May 23, 2006
Since March, the average weekly number of driver's license applications by immigrants and illegal aliens has nearly doubled in Maryland, where legal residency is not required of applicants, according to the state Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA).
The number of out-of-country license applications, or those for noncitizens, has surged from an average of 946 a week to 1,800 a week since March, MVA spokesman Buel Young said.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/metro/20060523-010213-5750r.htm
I believe that someone involved in an accident cause be an illegal who has gained driver's privileges with a matricular consula ID card or because the state, such as Maryland, is allowing it, could and should be able to file a RICO prosecution against the issuer of the license.
Now, FReepers should know the car accident scam is a nationside con game---alien invaders in league with crooked Russians who have perfected the "stoop and squat" staged auto accident. They and crooked doctors and lawyers reap billions from it---ripping off auto insurance companies, Medicare, etc.
But staging accidents is only one of the invaders con games. ......there are people who will break any law to sneak into this country. Some of these people are bums looking for a handout. Some of these people are drug smugglers bringing in coke from South America. Some of these people are MS-13 gang members who commit horrible violent crimes here in the US.
And most of these illegals are lying in wait until someone so much as looks cross-eyed at them......so they can sue. They will use any excuse ---as the posts above show. A FR thread should be established to record lawsuits by illegals----a cursory overview of the states shows these law suits are multiplying at an alarming rate.
The senate will have solved the problems of crime in our streets, welfare payouts (those payouts will not exist) and Social Security will be saved for future generations. Who would have thought our friends from south of the border would have the ability to lift America out of her problems? Now that we all finally agree Illegals are a good thing, maybe we can move on to more pressing problems?

If it is thought through fully, that stat would hold true for any high school dropout. No matter what their country of origin. So much smoke, so many mirrors . . .
I especially take issue with several of those items where the illegal action becomes legalized by those willing to accept the matricular consula ID cards or where asking a persons 'legal' status is prohibited.
In those cases, I believe the criminal action lies in the intent to 'encourage'......
"Another predicate act that would make an employer liable under RICO is encouraging or inducing "an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law."16 The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals has specifically interpreted this provision to apply to actions that encourage illegal aliens already in the United States to remain or that induce further illegal immigration.17 The Fourth Circuit held that "encouraging is not limited to bringing in, transporting or concealing illegal aliens. Rather, encouraging relates to actions taken to convince the illegal alien to come to this country or to stay in this country...........Since all legal immigrants and foreign visitors have access to legitimate U.S.-issued identification, such as a passport with a visa stamp or a green card, only illegal aliens have need to rely on the matricula card to establish identity. Acceptance of such a card as valid U.S. identification would certainly facilitate the entry of illegal aliens into American society, and any bank, municipality, or other entity that accepts the card, knowingly provides benefits such as the ability to open bank accounts or access public services to illegal aliens usually reserved solely for US citizens or legal residents. Though there is no court opinion yet that speaks directly to this new issue, it is not unreasonable to argue that such a practice could be found to encourage illegal aliens already in the United States to remain.
Acceptance of the matricula card also induces further immigration because those contemplating illegal entry will be more likely to do so given the added benefits they can hope to obtain with a matricula card once inside the United States. Thus, acceptance of the matricula for financial gain may serve as a predicate act under RICO. If an entity, for financial gain, accepts the matricula on more than one occasion, it engages in a pattern of racketeering activity in violation of §1962 of the RICO Act."
(I would add that, imo, the threat of RICO prosecution IS the reason for the current rush to pass a 'comprehensive' bill that includes amnesty for employers, rather than a bill that is border security and enforcement only.)
So true!
I really don't care if illegals are from somewhere out of this solar system. If illegals came or come to this nation via sneaking in, having broken a law, and then demanding a reward for breaking the law ... well this makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This type of attitude concerning the law is the means by which to build a stable foundation or wall or support mechanism (another pillar of strength) on which our nation will be the beneficiary.
FREEPER ACTIVISM: If duly elected officials, under oath, are demanding and encouraging ILLEGALS to break the law, to obtain the unlawful right to vote, and obtain unauthroized government benefits using fraudulent documentation, and if elected and appointed officials did, in fact, allow illegals to break the law to serve on municipal councils, and if illegals are making monetary (taxing) decisions for U.S. Citizens, this might be a violation of the Hobbs Act. If officials took campaign contributions from said illegals, this could be characterized as extortion, and/or bribery, and a violation of the Hobbs Act.
The Hobbs Act was used recently to nail four TENN state legislators and their aides in an extortion scheme. The TENN group was arrested under the federal Hobbs Act, charging extortion, conspiracy to extort and attempted extortion, and accepting bribes as an agent of the state.
The Hobbs Act covers extortion by public officials, as follows: 2403 Hobbs Act -- Extortion By Force, Violence, or Fear

9-131.020 Investigative and Supervisory Jurisdiction
Primary investigative jurisdiction of offenses in 18 U.S.C. § 1951 lies with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Inspector General's Office of Investigations, Division of Labor Racketeering (formerly the Office of Labor Racketeering), United States Department of Labor, is also authorized to investigate violations of 18 U.S.C. § 1951 in labor-management disputes involving the extortion of property from employers by reason of authority conferred on investigators as Special Deputy United States Marshals.
Supervisory jurisdiction over 18 U.S.C. § 1951 is exercised by the following offices with respect to the offenses noted:
1. Extortion under color of official right or extortion by a public official through misuse of his/her office is supervised by the Public Integrity Section, Criminal Division.
2. Extortion and robbery in labor-management disputes is supervised by the Labor-Management Unit of the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section, Criminal Division.
3. All other extortion and robbery offenses not involving public officials or labor-management disputes are supervised by the Terrorism and Violent Crimes Section, Criminal Division.

In my opinion the cost of "illegals" is an argument without much merit. Those jobs are going to be subsidized by society one way or another. Either in the market place (higher prices to pay the labor) or by taxes (low income benefits).
The problem is you are wrong. But we are all entitled to our opinions, the last time I checked. Thus you may say my thoughts on this subject are just an opinion also. Be my guest, but I cannot believe the way you believe....sorry. I'll pay higher prices, as I'm doing already, but I'd prefer the national security issue be addressed, and IMHO we are woefully lacking in that ballpark. Illegals give coattails to people who wish Americans and America harm. And there are people who say Americans should pick up the tab for the coattails of illegals and those who wish America and Americans harm. My opinion, stop illegals from coming here, prosecute the employers of illegals, no freebies to those illegally in this nation. At that point most of the problem will then solve itself. To reward a law breaker is complete insanity. The next time I see someone breaking the law I'll walk over and give them $200 dollars, tell them to pass go, and BTW "Good Job." I know that will solve the problem.
The issues of internal low income costs are separate from the the issues of border/internal law enforcement and security. You have no argument from me about the needs or the costs there.
If you want to say that wages are kept low by the deliberate laxness of border enforcement, I will even go along there somewhat. But it remains that there will be a class of low paid workers that will be subsidized by these benefits as long as they are available. Business counts on it.
as you wish....good day!
Ever notice how many illegals drive expensive SUV's? Cadillac Escalades? I have!
Yeah, and all paid for by taxpayers riding around in Yugo's.
Yes, it may hold true for some Americans and also some immigrants of legal status and also has been for many years.
Part of what makes this country great is helping citizens or those who entered legally to live up to a certain standard of living. i doubt if there would be many oppsed to this notion.
There is no obligation or desire to help those whose first act is criminal and whose lives are lived in"the shadows".
Turn the light on!!!
I am going to puke if I hear one more politician claim "we are a nation of laws".
Enforce them!!! Enforce them now!!!!
Don't forget that will also now be eligible for affirmative action programs getting preference over native born white Americans.
bump for later
