Russia is not that far-fetched. We know they helped Iraq (as did France)--and the Taliban doesn't hate Russia nearly as much as they hate us, for now. Their alliances change as necessary.

oh yes they do hate the Russians... the Russians were very brutal to them and THE TALIBAN sides with the chetynans against Russian now... with men on the ground.
