Quite amusing (and silly) since Reagan was just about as hated during his days in the White House. In fact, many people are still convinced his Alzheimers started during his second term. Yet now he is loved? Well I'm glad to see it. Perhaps one day people will appreciate Bush for facing up to and not running away from difficult challenges.

Let's see. Reagan is remembered for phrases like "Shining city on the hill," "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall," or "The Evil Empire." So far W will be remembered for "Doing the work Americans won't do," "Addicted to oil," or "Islam is the religion of peace."

Some real cheap shots there. OK I'll admit Bush is no Reagan.
1) When inflation is considered, Reagan's budgets spent more %-wise on spending than Bush's.
2) Reagan signed into law tax increases, amnesty for illegals, and supported the Brady bill and signed the treaty that banned Freon.
3) Reagan cut and ran in Lebannon when terrorsts killed 240 marines.
4) Reagan accomplished little to nothing in the area of preventing abortions.
5) Reagan appointed O'Connor and Kennedy to the Supreme Court.
6) With respect to taxes, Reagan cut them once, and raised them twice.

Both Reagan and Bush faced many challenges and I think they will both be shown to be excellent Presidents even when considering ALL cheap shots.

That's a rather selective picking and choosing.

I'd say most Americans will remember Reagan saying "We begin bombing in five minutes" more than some of those. Also, I don't know what he said when he signed that Amnesty bill, but actions speak louder than words.

As for Bush, I think more Americans will recall some of these quotes:

Answering the question, who is your favorite philosopher: "Jesus"

"Our Nation's founding commitment is still our deepest commitment: In our world, and here at home, we will extend the frontiers of freedom."

"Do I forget the lessons of September 11th and take the word of a madman, or do I take action to defend our country? Faced with that choice, I will defend America every time."

"We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbour them."

"My fellow Americans, for as long as our country stands, people will look to the resurrection of New York City and they will say: Here buildings fell, and here a nation rose."

"These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of America's resolve."

"The action we take and the decisions we make in this decade will have consequences far into this century. If America shows weakness and uncertainty, the world will drift toward tragedy. That will not happen on my watch."

"This young century will be liberty's century."

"America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our people."

"Freedom itself was attacked this morning by a faceless coward, and freedom will be defended."

"Freedom and fear, justice and cruelty, have always been at war, and we know that God is not neutral between them."

"With those attacks, the terrorists and their supporters declared war on the United States. And war is what they got."

"When I take action, I'm not going to fire a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt. It's going to be decisive."

"They're for tax cuts and against them. They're for NAFTA and against NAFTA. They're for the Patriot Act and against the Patriot Act. They're in favor of liberating Iraq, and opposed to it. And that's just one senator from Massachusetts." ;)
