That's just because it was a wildlife (mostly for birds) refuge back then caled "The Great Swamp." Being such and being located in Central/Northern NJ back then, it was a rumored dumping ground for countless Mob kills.

Well damn. I was waiting with bated breath, had not even went to work for several days, 6 radios and tvs tuned to every news source and now this.
