Just watched Dick Morris on the O' Reilly Factor tonight. He thinks that if Al Gore does decide to run for president in 2008, he can win.
I don't think so.
Morris bases his opinion on the following rationale:
1. People now link the import of Middle East oil with the empowering of terrorists.
2. The Reagan Democrats who voted for Reagan and Bush in 04 did so because both Republicans promised to cut taxes. They'll vote for Gore...according to Morris...because he'll promise to lower gas prices.
3. He thinks the fact that Gore carried the popular vote in 2000 still means something.
First, Bush isn't running in 2008.
Second, environmental policies have played a major role in price increases. We have major gas desposits in the Gulf Coast and oil deposits in ANWAR - but we're forbidden to drill there. We have fewer refineries now than ever - because of environmental regulations. Why Bush hasn't brought this up is a mystery to me, but it's infuriating.
Under a president Al Gore, the US would sign the Koyoto Agreement. That will send gas prices through the roof.
And why would the Reagan Democrats vote for someone who for sure will raise their taxes and gas prices?
Finally, the world has changed since 2000. Al Gore hasn't.
LOL...
Didn't he predict Hitlery would lose the first Senate race?
Gore can win?
It all depends on whom the Republicans put up against him.
Didn't he predict Hitlery would lose the first Senate race?
Could be....I'm not sure. Given the sorry state of the pubbie candidate in that case (after Rudy pulled out) that should have been an easy one.
I should have been more clear in my statement regarding Dicky and the Clintons. He's good a predicting "Clinton behavior". He knows 'em like a book. AS far as predicting the outcome of events he's always wrong. His most recent gaffe was when he predicted a Kerry win. To be honest, I'm not up on what he may have blubbered about since then.
Actually, Dick is right on this one. Gore is producing gorgasms throughout the Rat base right now. He is the main force draining support from MRS BILL CLINTON in moonbat land.
Algore can at least win the nomination. Whether he can win the prize is another matter. All depends on who the Repubs put up.
Why is Morris considered relevant? I swear I see his stuff once a week. Maybe the only thing you need to get into political analysis is to show up every day and say something.
I wonder what 'secrets' Hillary knows about Gore.
It would make an interesting primary season.
More and more he looks to be an obvious "plant" by the Xlintons to try and sabotage the Republicans.
